Unboxing
There’s no special packaging for this product, just basically, or really it’s a plastic bag.
Inside of the bag you’ll find two parts, an arm bracket and the actual mount.
The arm has a suction cup on the end and a swiveling clip.
The main mount is padded inside and on the sides. The back has a slot that the arm fits into. At the top of the back of the mount is a button that unlocks the arms on the front.
The mount has adjustable arms that slide in and out to fit your device.
On the bottom of the mount are two little arms that flip out to make sure the device stay in the mount when you’re using it.
Installation, Testing and Comparison
The first thing you’ll need to do is put it together, it’s simple just clip the mount to the arm.
I used the mount with my phone, a Samsung Captivate and it fit perfectly fine.
I drove around with the mount attached to my windshield and it stayed in place no matter how many bumps I hit or turns I took.
The mount can adjust and lock in place via the plastic nut on the back, which is nice. You can set it for optimal viewing and be set. It’s perfect for using your phone as a GPS device of course.
The whole mount is plastic but it feels nicely made and sturdy so it should last a long time for you under normal use conditions.
Summary and Comments
USBFever carries a lot of products and I don’t think I’ve run across any that aren’t useful.
If you need a car mount that will fit pretty much every device out there, then this is what you want.
The cost is low considering that it can be used with any device you’ve got. You could consider it future proof really. You could have this mount through many generations of devices feasibly.
