Installation, Testing and Comparison
Of course installation is very easy, plug one end of the USB cable into the card reader and the other into your computer and install the drivers from the disc and you’re ready to start reading flash cards!
I mentioned the logo lights up when powered on, here are a few pictures in varying lighting so you can see it lit up:
One very cool thing I found was that the drivers actually install icons for the types of cards you will be using when you plug in the USB hub, these appear when you plug in the reader.
Testing wise I read cards from the reader to compare to other card readers I have on hand, the built-in and portable types. The transfer rates were all the same, except of course when using USB 1.1 over USB 2.0. Yeah my laptop still has USB 1.1 on it… oh well, it works for me fine… It is nice having the ability also to transfer from one card to another while they are plugged into the reader.
The 51 in 1 USB Slim Card Reader seems fairly well made, though I wouldn’t run it over with a car. It looks very cool and stylish as well, being so small makes it very portable also.
