A Better Look at Things
:
The Corepad C1 Cloth Mousepad comes packaged in an attractive fairly thick cardboard box that could also double as a carrier so you can take the C1 with you to lan parties etc.
The Corepad C1 Medium is fairly thick and has a very smooth surface considering it is a cloth surface mousepad.
The bottom left corner of the C1 had the Corepad logo and the top right corner has an interesting, and rather attractive graphic.
The C1 is thicker than other cloth pads I’ve reviewed or owned, being thick also makes it a bit springy and padded as well. The back of the Corepad C1 is a rubberized, textured surface to make sure the C1 medium stays put no matter what you do.
My first impressions of the C1 was that it felt very well made, and seemed like it was going to be an excellent mousepad. I’m a bit partial to hard surface pads lately, but I used to use only cloth at one time in my life…

Installation, Testing and Comparison
The Corepad C1 Medium mousepad is on average a bit larger than other mouse pads, but it’s not overly so. In the following picture I have the Ideazon Reaper gaming mouse to give you an idea of scale comparison, but for testing I used my favorite, the Logitech G5 Rev2 gaming mouse.
I’ve been using the Corepad C1 Medium Cloth Mousepad for over two weeks now on my main system with the Logitech G5 for everything I do and I have to say that I am very much impressed by this pad, it might just be replacing my Icemat 2nd Editon as my main pad…
Using it for everyday tasks I found it to be very comfortable on my wrist even though it is a fairly thick pad. I found it to be very responsive and accurate for anything I needed to do from general tasks, to photo editing down to the pixel level.
The Corepad C1 is very responsive for gaming as well, I played several FPS type games like BF2142, STALKER, and others. One thing I noticed when switching between the hard surface of the Icemat 2nd Edition and the Corepad C1 was that I didn’t have to change the resolution of my Logitech G5, it worked just the same for me. Other pads I’ve used I’ve found I did have to adjust the resolution a bit to make up for any differences in the surfaces.
Overall I think the Corepad C1 is a great mousepad and even if you like hard surface pads you’ll appreciate the smoothness of the C1 cloth pad, and maybe make the switch to using cloth pads.

The Corepad C1 always stayed where I put it and didn’t move no matter how fast or frantic I moved my mouse around on it, and I never fell off the edge of the pad either.
At the moment I’m actually using a Corepad Deskpad under the Corepad C1, I’ve grown accustomed to having the Deskpad under my keyboard, it makes things quieter while typing and also makes for a nice soft work surface for you arms/wrists. The combination of the Deskpad and the C1 Medium is just excellent for me.
