Today for review I have another game from our friends at Trisynergy, it is called Glow Worm, and it’s actually a really fun and well made game. At first glance, Glow Worm might seem a bit on the childish side, or a game specifically for children, but it really isn’t, it is one of those games that everyone can enjoy, and enjoy it for many hours. Glow Worm has three different scenarios, with over 100 original puzzles for you to play. While Glow Worm can be easy to learn and play, there are some aspects that even the most seasoned gamer will enjoy. Read on to learn more about Glow Worm…

A Better Look at Things

Of course the obligatory box shots come first, and the box for Glow Worm is rather impressive, it’s very bright and colorful, sure to catch anyone eye and peak their curiosity while sitting on a shelf.
The back of the box has a couple screen shots and tell you a bit about the game, while the front of the box opens up for a more in depth look at Glow Worm, with lots of screenshots for you to check out.
Glow Worm only comes packaged with the main disc, no manual, there is a tutorial built into the game itself.
Installation is easy, Glow Worm even has its’ own customized installer, takes maybe 2 minutes to install Glow Worm.
Once you load the game you are greeted with a story screen, that is basically the title screen, it is a letter from Mr. Magellan, who will be guiding you through Glow Worm.
Testing and Gameplay:
Once past the letter from Mr. Magellan, you get to the menu screen, hints pop up during the game, but can be turned off if you wish.
You have the choice of Classic, Adventure, or Puzzle levels of gameplay. There isn’t much in the options section, just for basic sound and full screen of or off.
As I mentioned before there is a tutorial in Glow Worm, I would recommend playing it first, there is a lot to Glow Worm than meets the eye.
In the Puzzle game you can choose which puzzle of puzzles you wish to play, you need to get a certain score to proceed to the next level.
There are many level to Glow Worm, and all are different, in the following screenshot, you can see on the left side of the screen there are three Glow Worms, those are the ‘pieces’ that are coming into to play next, so you can plan accordingly. On the bottom of the screen there is a bridge, the idea to to get the Glow Worm across the bridge to complete the level, you do this by putting at least four of the same color Glow Worms or butterflies near each other.
Testing and Gameplay Continued:
Once you complete a level you are greeted with a summary screen and a Fun Fact about Butterflies or Glow Worms.
The adventure level is pretty much the same, but you are advancing you Glow Worm across a global map to help free them.
Gameplay is pretty much the same for all, the Glow Worms can turn into butterflies as well. Mr. Magellan also talks to you periodically while you are playing, it is usually something to let you know how good you are doing.
You place the Glow Worm with the left mouse button, but you can change the Glow Worms’ color with the right mouse button, the Glow Worm will change to the color of his spots and back again.
There are many things to do in Glow Worm, there are many special features but I don’t want to give it all away. I can tell you that Glow Worm is actually very fun to play, and you can easily ‘waste’ an hour or two at a time playing it.

With a game like Glow Worm, it’s really hard to convey just how much fun it is until you actually play it, it one that I think everyone can enjoy.
Summary:
Actually Glow Worm is a great little game, it might seem like something that is more for kids, but I have spent a few hours playing it myself and have very much enjoyed it. All sorts of games come and go but only a few have the ability to be enjoyed by everyone in the family. Most games get installed, finished and uninstalled, but Glow Worm offers many more hours of game play than most games out there today. This is one of those games that I can truly recommend to anyone looking for a fun little game that you can re-visit numerous times and still enjoy playing it over and over.
