The Review
There’s not exactly a box for for this, it’s a plastic casing with cardboard insert that has some info listed.
Unboxing it, well there’s nothing there but the case itself. I should note this case isn’t your typical cheap soft silicon, it’s thick and not exactly flexible. Yes the case does flex, but not much at all, just enough to get your phone in basically.
On the back you’ll see the ‘wave’ design where the case gets its name from. It’s hard to see but the right and left side both have strips of what I would call stubble on them for grip. Looking closer it’s more of a cross hatching like pattern. Later one you’ll see a closer view of it when my phone is in the case. On the back there are holes for the camera, speaker and flash LEDs. Only part of the case is clear the rest is more of a smoke colored but yet still partially see-through.
The case is made for the HTC Titan Windows Phone and that’s what I have. So here’s the phone with the case. The case doesn’t come with a screen protector, but I already have one on there.
As I mentioned the case is thick so getting the Titan into the Wave case can be a struggle, it’s only slightly flexible but with a little work it goes in. All around the inner edge is a very small lip that goes over the front of the phone holding the case in place, once your phone is in, it stays in.
Here’s the back, you can see just how see-through it is. The Titan is a nice looking phone and it’s shame to cover it up with a solid or black case I think. I’ve always been partial to clear cases myself.
The holes on the back are nice and wide, they don’t interfere with the camera, LEDs or speaker.
On the right side of the case it’s not cut-out at all, the volume and camera buttons are covered with raised pieces of the case. The case does not interfere with using the buttons at all, in fact I thin it makes it a little easier. Here you can also get a better look at the pattern on the side I mentioned earlier.
The left side is mostly the cross hatch pattern then down farther you’ll see a cut-out for the microUSB port.
The Titan actually has two microphones, one on the top and one on the bottom. On the top you’ll find cut-outs for the microphone and headphone jack and then a raised part of the case for the power button like the sides have.
On the bottom you’ll see a cut-out for the microphone and for the release button for the back of the phone. I’m not sure why they did that for the button as it’s on no use really when it’s in the case. The button is used to remove the whole back of the phone for battery and sim card access.
Summary and Comments
Personally I like the FlexiShield Case a lot, it protects the phone and looks good.
The case fits very well on the Titan, it’s nice and snug and will not easily come off. The material used is thick so the phone will not be damaged by scratches and it might even save it from falls as well.
The case is what you want from a case really, good protection, good looks and a good fit.
The price is about $16, and I think it’s well worth it for that price and the amount of protection it offers.
Before I got this case for review I was using an official HTC case, the HC C652 Hard Case with Kickstand and it’s not a bad case but it’s open on the sides, top and bottom. I like the full protection of the FlexiShield much better, I feel safer now.
