Summary and Comments
The OnAir GT is a simple to setup, easy to use right out of the box solution for viewing digtial and hi-def television on your PC, being small and including a carrying case means you can take it with you wherever you go as well.
I really like the OnAir GT, it can be used as is out of the box and pretty much anyone will be able to install the OnAir GT quickly and easily on their system. The price of the OnAir GT is well worth it if you watch a lot of TV, and the added function of the DVR is a very attractive feature.
At one point I did have a TV Tuner PCI card installed in my system, but that’s it, it’s in the system, I couldn’t take it with me, the OnAir GT allows you portability and mobility without a lot of accessories to carry with you.
The only drawbacks I can find are the lack of usability of the remote with other applications and possibly the numerous options that could confuse some people. Personally I like having all the various options, it’s fun to get in there and play with them, but if a novice changes the wrong thing there could be problems. Maybe if they changed it a bit and re-categorized things with an added category called ‘Advanced Options’ with a warning to the user not to change anything if they don’t know what they are doing.
A couple days after I got the OnAir GT my friend was over and he was checking it out, he’s the type of person who really has no clue about computers and could easily change something he shouldn’t, but if he saw that warning he’d think twice about it I’m sure.
