When I got my first SmartPhone the first thing I got for it was a screen protector, they're pretty much a must have accessory for any type of device with a screen on it but especially for PDA/PPC type cellphones. If you don't have a protector on your screen you run the risk of ruining it, and of course causing you to pay money to have it fixed or dealing with a scratched screen.
I've got two screen protectors from Boxwave for review today, both are their ClearTouch brand, but one is the Anti-Glare version while the other is the Crystal version. I had both installed for 2 weeks each to get a good idea of how they work and just how good they are and of course to compare them together for this review. In my time with them I've found them both to be very good quality and offer excellent protection for your phones screen, they're both washable and reusable making them a long lasting product, not something you'll use and toss away. Of course after using them I found one to be more to my liking than the other, but that's just for my personal preference, which one you'll choose will depend on your own needs.

A Better Look at Things
:
The packaging for the Boxwave ClearTouch screen protectors is basically the same for both, just a few minor differences in details and colors. The back of the packages has instructions for applying and 'refreshing' the screen protectors.
Inside the package we find the screen protector itself, a screen cleaning cloth and an applicator to help apply the protector.
Installation, Testing and Comparison
To apply the Boxwave ClearTouch screen protectors you'll need to have a clean screen, lint and oil free for the best adhesion of the protector. The included cleaning cloth easily takes care of this with a few wipes across the screen.
The first one I applied is the Crystal version, I found that it fits perfectly on my Tilt, with just a millimeter or so of clearance on the sides, top and bottom, it's a tight fit but not too tight. The protector itself is fairly thick and stiff making it actually easy to apply to the screen of my phone.
The Crystal version screen protector is absolutely clear, when it's on you can't even tell it's there. Since it is so thick I was worried about the touch sensitivity of my phone, I read that other people had to actually raise the sensitivity after applying a screen protector, but with the Boxwave ClearTouch I didn't have to do that, my phone works just like it does without the protector on it.
After two weeks I switched the screen protectors to use the Anti-Glare version and used it for two weeks as well, the application process is the same, very easy with no problems.
After using them both for two weeks each, I've decided that I like the Crystal version better as it is much clearer than the Anti-Glare version. Really the Anti-Glare version didn't do much to stop the glare, it essentially just tones down the shininess of the screen itself by being slightly 'cloudy'. This 'cloudiness' makes it kind of annoying to use, at least in my opinion, but I've read others don't care for it much either.
Personally I don't use my phone in bright light situations, and if I do I just angle the phone away from the sun so there's no glare, my own little anti-glare system…
Summary:
The Boxwave ClearTouch protectors are well made and inexpensive, they seem as though they will last quite a while with normal everyday use. I like the idea that you can just wash it clean and re-apply it when the need arises, that means you don't have to go and buy a new one all the time.
Personally I prefer the Crystal version of the ClearTouch over the Anti-Glare, but that's just me, others might have a different opinion. All in all though I don't think you can go wrong really with either one, both will do a very good job at protecting the screen on your phone and you won't notice any difference with it on.
DragonSteelMods gives the ClearTouch Crystal a 5 out of 5 score and our Recommend Awards as well.
DragonSteelMods gives the ClearTouch Anti-Glare a 4.5 out of 5 score.
Pros:
-Reusable
-East to apply
-Fits my phone perfectly
-Includes cleaning cloth/applicator
-Inexpensive
Cons:
-Screen is not quite clear with the Anti-Glare
I would like to thank Boxwave for the chance to review the ClearTouch Screen Protectors and for their continued support of DSM.
