Installation, Testing and Comparison
Installing the mini mouse into the base is very easy you just click it in place.
If you look closely you will see a lock at the rear of the mouse that releases the mini mouse from it’s ‘shell’, it comes out very easily.
When powered on the optical sensor lights up a bright red color, and the scroll wheel lights up a cool blue.
Windows XP recognizes the mouse instantly and you are ready to go. While using the mini mouse I tried various mouse pads, hard surface, rough surface and cloth, I also tried just my desk. The tracking for the mini mouse was excellent, it is small but fat so it is actually comfortable in your hand.
I found the tracking to be excellent in all the things I did from my everyday work to gaming, combining the mini mouse with it’s larger cover was a snap and produced a very comfortable, form fitting mouse. No matter what I did the mouse tracked excellently.
Having the retractable cord is very useful as well, I own a Logitech Mouseman portable mouse and you have to roll the cord up and stick it in the case with the mouse, can be time consuming if you are in a hurry, but with retractable just pull and go. Another cool thing is that you have two mice in one, if you are in a coffee shop where space is limited you can use the mini mouse, but if you find yourself somewhere with lots of workspace you just snap on the ‘cover’ and you have a nice full sized mouse.
