The title of this game just makes me grin every time I play it or write it out, I’m sure you understand why, just think about it… Anyway, besides that, this is one great little game, I actually started playing this game and the next thing I knew an hour had gone by. Deep Ball Defender is a combination of classics like Arknoid and Breakout, but it just seems more addictive, I found myself continuing to play just to see what was on the next screen. So, obviously, today for review I have Deep Ball Defender, courtesy of our friends at VGSmart and BD Studio Games. SO read on if you want to learn about a great little game that you can easily loose quite a bit of time playing….

:
As this is a downloadable game there are no box shots for you. You can download the trial version and try that out, but once you do you’ll be buying a license. On to that now, when you download and click the icon you are greeted with the ‘Unregistered Version’ screen, you can play first scene with 10 levels and use the level editor to make your own but that’s it.
You can create a profile for yourself, and anyone else so you can continue playing from where you left off when you exit and return.
The main screen has a few basic options, Start, Custom- for using your own levels, Options, Scores, and Quit.
Once you start the game, you are greeted with the help screen. On the help screen you learn the basics of the game and what everything is, there are lots of items that can be found during gameplay.
You can start the game on any scene you wish, with 10 scenes and 10 levels on each scene.
Testing and Gameplay:
The first scene, first level is fairly straightforward, very similar to breakout, you need to break all the block to complete the level.
During the game you will run across power ups, and other sorts of odd things. In the following screenshot you can see my ball was turned into a fireball, which makes it destroy bricks in a single hit, instead of numerous times. Also on the screen are things that will speed up or slow your ball down, these are also teleporters of sorts which makes your ball appear somewhere else on the screen.
There are various bricks, metal ones that take many, many hits to break, exploding bricks, changing bricks etc. The graphics are excellent as well, and the music is just plain cool, it is sort of like a heavy metal soundtrack.
When you finish you are greeted with a congratulatory screen.
The level creator is very easy to use, and makes the game much more interesting when you create your own levels.
There are power ups in Deep Ball Defender that, if grabbed, will multiply your ball by eight, so you can have eight balls flying around, but then another x8 can pop up and you’ll have lots more balls flying around… There are power ups to make your platform large and small, power ups to make the entire screen move up or down, power ups to change your ball into fire, make it large, make it small, turn it into a ball that will plow through and destroy everything and a ball that drops little balls as it hits things.
There are so many things going on while playing it’s just really cool, and a lot of fun. Next up I have some in game videos for you to listen tot he soundtrack and see the gameplay.

To be honest I love this game, I’ve lost quite a few hours or productivity since I installed this game….
Summary:
As I mentioned I’ve lost quite a bit of time playing this game and I believe once you start playing you’ll understand exactly what I mean, so go and download the trial and then buy it! This has got to be one of the most addictive games I’ve played in along time, it’s very enjoyable and just plain fun.
DragonSteelMods gives Deep Ball Defender a 5 out of 5 score and our Recommended Award as well.
