ECS EliteGroup KN1 SLI Lite Extreme Motherboard Review

A Better Look at Things pg2

And here it is, the ECS KN1 SLI Lite Extreme motherboard.

The CPU socket is the standard 939 style that we all know and love, surrounded by a nice bright yellow mounting bracket. To the right side of the socket or top of the motherboard is the 3-pin CPU fan header.

Behind that, opposite the I/O ports we find the Marvell Giga Lan controller chip, there is a 3 pin case fan header and a 12v Molex connection to provide more needed power to the PCIE lanes.

On the other side of the CPU socket we find the DDR sockets, these DDR sockets are kind of special, they are optimized to make the data throughput higher quality and allow for higher, stable overclocks.

On the side of the board next to the DDR sockets, are located the IDE connectors, FDD connector and the main ATX power connection, minimum recommended power is 300 Watts or the system might fail to boot up.
