Summary and Comments
I am truly impressed by the sound coming from the Ewoo eFizz speaker system. It is on par with higher end stereo systems and provides a rich soundstage with deep bass and warm highs. Even at high volumes, the sound was clear and crisp. Plus the upgradeable firmware is a unique feature that few if any iPod speakers share.
Unfortunately, the remote needs some more fine tuning or maybe a firmware update that can help correct its herky-jerky scrolling and its occasional unresponsiveness. As I mentioned in the HandMusic review, if the remote was more like the actual iPod interface, then the eFizz would be near perfect. Also, the product name needs some work – eFizz? The name does not resemble any type of iPod nomenclature and does not make me think of a fine piece of audio equipment. An Alka-Seltzer tablet, maybe. Maybe iCabasse would work better?
Another drawback and this is probably the biggest one is the price. Retailing at around $600, this is one expensive iPod Speaker system. For that price, you could buy a several iPods. But to get great sound, you sometimes have to pay the price.
DragonSteelMods gives the eFizz a 4.5 out of 5 score.
