Hama Hard Case Carbon Style Digital Compact Camera Bag Review

At this point and time I think everybody has a digital camera of some sort. Gone are the days of developing film, now everything is instant and easy. When it comes to camera cases you’ve got plenty of options that’s for sure and Love Cases has sent me over one of their products for review and, you guessed it, it’s a camera case. The case is from Hama and it’s for compact cameras, the point and shoot style, so it can fit many brands of cameras and not just any specific one, just up to a certain size.

A Better Look at Things

There’s no special packaging for this case, just a plastic hang tag attached to it.

The case has a carbon fiber look and texture to it all over. It is a hard shell case that should do a decent job of protecting your camera from bumps, drops and possibly getting crushed.

It has dual zippers so you can open it up quickly and easily.

On the back or bottom you’ll find a belt loop so you can wear it on your belt obviously.

Opening up the case you’ll find a strap inside to hold the camera case around your neck. So with this case you’ve got two options, the strap or belt loop attachments.

The inside of the case is slightly padded to protect your camera from bumps. The material lining the inside is a very soft felt-like material that shouldn’t scratch your camera of the LCD.

There’s also a small pocket inside to carry an extra memory card or something else small with you.

Here’s the strap, on the end is a metal clip that attaches to the cases and the strap is adjustable for size. It’s made of nylon and it feels sturdy enough.

Usage:

The Hama case comes with a nice adjustable strap. To use it you just clip it onto the case and adjust it as need be. Simple to do and it should keep your camera safe and secure. You could just use the built-in belt loop too, so you’ve got options.

The Hama case is a compact camera case for point and shoot style cameras up to a certain size, it’s not for any specific model of camera really. I got out my Kodak CX7530 to use with it.

I found that the case is a tight fit for the camera, but that’s a good thing as it won’t move around a lot. If you look closely you’ll see there are expandable sides inside of the case, these are a great addition as your camera won’t fall out easily.

The zippers don’t actually touch your camera, inside is a cloth pad between the zipper and your camera so you won’t have to worry about any scratches from them. It’s a nice added touch that shows the company pays attention to details.

The inside pocket is a nice addition but the only thing you can really fit into it once the camera is in the case is a memory card. So I guess it’s somewhat useful, but you won’t be carrying batteries or anything larger than a memory card in there along with your camera.

Summary and Comments

The Hama case is small and compact, but it’s well made. The case has a hard shell to protect the camera inside from drops, bumps or maybe getting crushed.

The inside of the case offers a nice soft surface to help protect your camera even further and there’s even a small pocket to take along and extra memory card so you can take lots of pictures.

This case gives you two options for taking it with you; either the built-in belt loop or you can use the included adjustable strap.

You could always just toss the case right in your bag along with all of your other stuff, it’s a hard case so you won’t have to worry much about anything happening to your camera as it will protect it well.
