A Better Look at Things
The IDE To SATA Bi-Directional Converter from Brando WorkShop comes packaged in an easy open plastic clamshell, on the front you can plainly see the device, while the back has the features listed.
Besides the actual converter, included also is a driver disc, SATA cable, and power cables for IDE and SATA drive hook ups.
On one side of the converter is an IDE connection that connects to either an IDE hard drive, or the IDE header on your motherboard. On the back is a switch and set of jumpers that will be used to set the converter to know which setup you are using, either IDE to SATA or SATA to IDE.
The bottom of the device has the settings for the switch and the jumper, but they are both the same…
The device itself is essentially a circuit board inside of a plastic protective housing, I found that it is a bit fragile and the housing pops apart easily. A few drops of super glue might help that out, and this could have been something that was specific to the sample I received for review.
