Unboxing
The box is black with white writing and a picture of a photo iPod and a cartoon drawing in the iPod window. “Your iPod’s best friend” appears to be the marketing slogan.
The back of the package features some more pictures which include photos of the rear panel of the iDock, the RCA Cables and S-Video cable.
Upon opening the box, the first thing seen is the three sets of cables. The cables included are the S-Video, the RCA Cable and the USB 2.0 Charger and HotSync cable. Beneath these cables in a small box is the iDock. I found it odd, that there were no instructions included. Although it is not difficult to figure out how to use the iDock, some people may need instructions.
The iDock is white and is somewhat taller than the original iPod dock.
Now the iDock can be used in many different configurations. It can be used as a standard iPod dock for syncing and charging the iPod via the USB charging/sync cable.
The dock can be used as a stand for video transmission when the RCA cables or the S-Video cables are hooked up to either a monitor or a television. It is important to note that the if using the S-Video cable, the red and white RCA cables will still need to be hooked to an audio output system or else you will be watching silent movies.
