I’ve taken a look at a lot of accessories for my phone, an AT&T Tilt, but none quite like the one I have today. It’s from our friends at USBFever and it’s called the In Car Handsfree for HTC Phones, now my phone might be called a Tilt, but it’s an HTC device in reality, so it works fine with it, along with many other HTC brand phones as well. This product is one that I like quite a bit really, I was surprised by just how much functionality it offers.

Unboxing
The packaging for this product is plain and simple, no frills, and nothing else included, no instructions or anything, but then again, you really don’t need them as it’s very easy to use.
The In Car Handsfree for HTC Phones consists of a large speaker with a long cord on it. The speaker section plugs into a standard car jack for power and can be used to charge your phone as well as being used as an external speaker.
On the top, where the speaker is located is a small button with a phone on it, this turns the speaker on, there’s nothing on the bottom except an identification label. On the sides and back you’ll find the charging switch, volume control, speaker jack and another USB port to charge other devices you might have.
The cord is nice and long, one end is a male HTC style mini-USB jack that of course plugs into your phone, and on the back side has two more jacks, one 3.5mm audio jack and a female mini-USB jack.
Installation, Testing and Comparison:
Using the In Car Handsfree for HTC Phones is very easy, it’s truly plug and play.
On the top of the speaker is an LED indicator that lights up green or red depending on what mode it’s in, red is for charging, green is for power.
The speaker quality is surprisingly good, it’s not wonderful, but it’s acceptable for calling, it’s about on par with the built-in speaker of my Tilt, and it’s much louder as well.
One small complaint I could have is that this product is large, but being what it is there’s not really any way around the size issue. I can see this not fitting in some cars though, depending where the power port is, it can be a tight fit due to it’s size. Where my power jack is located, the Handsfree device comes close to the shifter in my car. I have another jack located down inside the center console between the seats, it wouldn’t fit in there as it was just too big.
Summary and Comments
This product works and offers a couple good features like the additional USB port for charging other things along with headphone jacks located on the device and on the plug-in jack. It’s very easy to use, it has a nice long cord, and the speaker is loud so you’ll be able to easily hear the person speaking.
It’s not a bad little product if you need something like this.
