A Better Look at Things
The box for the HyperX SSD looks nice with specs listed on the back.
The box is kind of like a gift box, when you open it up you’ll be greeted with the SSD itself in padding for protection. Under the SSD you’ll find all of the accessories.
Once you get everything unpacked you’ll find a CD that contains Acronis software for cloning you hard drive. In the pack you’ll also find a 3.5” to 2.5” adapter, screws for installation, SATA cable, USB cable, 2.5” enclosure, tool and of course the SSD itself.
The two bags of screws are for the installation one to attach the SSD to the tray and one for mounting the tray into your case if need be.
The HyperX SSD itself looks nice; it’s a two tone gray color with the Kingston and HyperX logos on it.
On the bottom edge you’ll find the SATA power and data connections.
The tray is aluminum and it’s the signature blue color that’s used by Kingston for their HyperX line of products.
Kingston was nice enough to include a tool for installation. It looks like a pen, but it’s really a screwdriver or two screwdrivers actually. You’ll find two screwdriver tips when you remove the end cap.
Included also is a blue SATA cable that also have the Kingston and HyperX logos on it.
The USB cable goes with the 2.5” enclosure and it’s just your standard cable.
The enclosure is stylish looking with the Kignston and HyperX logos here again; it’s dark gray like the drive really.
On the back edge you’ll find the USB connection and an LED to indicate power and activity.
On the front edge is a lock slider to secure the cover in place. The cover just slides off once it’s unlocked to reveal the SATA connections.
The SSD just slips in and then you put the cover back on and you can use it. The great thing about this is that you can use it for whatever you want; any 2.5” drive will fit.
