miniSync – Car Charger Bundle from Boxwave for ATT Tilt/ HTC Tytn II

sync2

The ATT Tilt is a great phone overall, but AT&T decided to not include things with it that comes with the TyTn II like a headset and car charger. Headsets of course are fairly easy to come by, and you've got many choices with them, car chargers are easy to come by as well and fairly cheap. When it comes to car chargers though do you really want to rely on some cheapie after-market device to safely charge your phone? Why not get one from a reliable source and still not pay much for it?

In my ongoing set of reviews of accessories for the Tilt, the next up would be the miniSync – Car Charger Bundle from Boxwave for ATT Tilt/ HTC Tytn II and it's more than just a car charger it's also a syncing cable as well to sync your phone to your PC. This bundle is inexpensive, coming it at under thirty dollars, it includes two retractable cables, one specifically for syncing/charging to/from your PC and one just for charging your phone while you're in your car with the included high power car adapter. All three parts are very well made so they seem as they will last for quite a while, in my time with them I've found them to be very useful and very handy.

So continue on to check it out…

A Better Look at Things

:

The miniSync Bundle comes in 'white box' fashion or OEM stylings… nothing special really.

The USB cables are labeled the same on one side but differently on the other so you don't confuse them. One cable is specifically for use with your PC and the other is just for use charging your phone.

The included Car Charger is a high output type to be able to charge the phone, and that's one particular reason that the cables are labeled the way they are, so you don't mix them up. One end of the charger is a standard USB port where you plug the cable into, there is also an LED on the other end as well to indicate power/charging.

At first when I got this I thought it was kind of goofy to have two cables doing the same thing basically then I realized I can leave one in my car with the charger and take the other with me.. duh…

Installation, Testing and Comparison

Installation is easy, plug it into your cars cigarette lighter, plug your phone in and soon you'll have a fully charged phone ready to go.

I didn't include any pictures of my phone being synced to my computer, it's standard procedure, the same as the cable that came with the phone.

In my time with the charger I've used it a few times actually, and it works well, I always seem to forget to charge my phones, and it's very nice to have a car charger handy. Shame on ATT for not including one with this phone…

The syncing cable I use basically everyday, I actually prefer it now over the USB cable that came with the phone. It's just much easier to work with and retracts back when not in use to save space.

Both of the cables and the charger seem very well made, and I've got them thrown into my utility compartment in my car along with a bunch of other stuff and they seem happy there, ready to be utilized at a moments notice.

Summary:

Overall this bundle should be on your 'must-have' list of accessories for your Tilt, especially since ATT felt the need NOT to include a car charger with the phone. The car charger alone is well worth it, but I think you'll find the sync cable much nicer than the stock one included with the phone.

As I mentioned I prefer the miniSync sync cable over the stock version, it's just easier to use and tucks away for storage. You can easily take it with you and it won't take up any space.

So, if you're in the market for a car charger for your new ATT Tilt, and I know for a fact you are, then why not get the bundle package from Boxwave and get a handy sync cable as well with that charger.

The charger is nice because it's your standard USB port connection so you can basically charge any device that uses that type of connection.

DragonSteelMods gives the miniSync – Car Charger Bundle from Boxwave for ATT Tilt/ HTC Tytn II a 5 out of 5 score and our Recommended Award as well.
