We’ve all got fans in our cases to keep
our computers cool, but some of those fans, especially those that
come in a pre-built system can be quite loud so we need to find a
quiet replacement, but yet one that can still keep our systems cool.
Today for review I’ve got two of the FX
Series of 80MM fans from Nanoxia, a 1600RPM fan and a 3000RPM fans.
In my time with these fans I’ve found them to be very well made,
quiet and they can move quite a bit of air around. These fans come
included with silicone bolts to keep them even quieter and a PCI
bracket style fan controller as well.

Tech
Specs,Features or the Basic Info:
The main characteristic of
Nanoxia FX series fans is their outstanding durability – another
remarkable feature is the extreme running smoothness during the whole
time of operation.
Carefully selected components,
an optimized design both in electronics and aerodynamics,
state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, a matchless quality
control and further process optimizations make Nanoxia fans the prime
selection both for PC enthusiasts and industrial applications.
One factor that makes Nanoxia
fans reach this incredible level of running smoothness and durability
is the bearing, made from nanotechnology composite material. The
Nanoxia fan bearings were specially developed for industrial
application and allow operation even in extreme environments. The
construction prevents the intrusion of foreign substances – Nanoxia
FX fans perform perfectly even in
dusty surroundings or
underwater! The bearing needs no additional lubricant, since there is
neither abrasion nor contamination in the bearing housing. After
fabrication, every single fan gets checked and thoroughly tested.
Nanoxia FX fans guarantee an
optimum of quality, which we ensure to our customers in the form of a
ten year warranty.

Better Look at Things:
The Nanoxia FX Series of 80MM fans
come packaged in very nice plastic boxes with the specs and features
listed of course.
Opening the box we find a
compartmentalized plastic tray where we find the fan, silicone
vibration dampeners and a PCI bracket style fan speed controller.
The fans themselves are attractive
with a glossy black frame and see-through green fan blades.
Installation,
Testing and Comparison:
Installations using the silicone
bolts is fairly easy, just push through the holes an then pull
through the fan holes, I installed both fans in my NZXT Zero2 PC
case, there was room for two additional 80mm fans on the top and
bottom of the case, one for intake and one for exhaust.
I used the fan speed controller
for the 3000RPM fan only as I am using an NZXT Sentry LX fan
controller for the other fans in the case.
The 1600RPM fan is very quiet even
when running at full speed, but the 3000RPM fan is bit too loud for
my tastes, so I’ve got it running at a lower speed via the fan
controller, both fans do however seems to move quite a bit of air
even at their lowest speeds.
Summary
and Comments:
The Nanoxia FX Series of 80mm fans
are very nicely made, and push quite a bit of air, they can make a
great addition to any case for added airflow while remaining quiet.
…and no I didn’t test the
waterproof claims of the fans, electricity and water just don’t quite
mix well so I wasn’t even trying that…
DragonSteelMods gives the Nanoxia
FX Series 80mm Fans a 5 out of 5 score and our Recommended Award as
well.
Pros:
-Well made
-Nice extras
-Quiet
-Move a lot of air
-Waterproof!
Cons:
-None really
I
would like to thank Nanoxia for the chance to review the FX
Series 80mm Fans and for their continued support of DSM.
