Unboxing
The packaging for the Noctua NF-A14 ULN fan is pretty much the same as for the NF-A14 FLX fan I recently reviewed. The box opens up to show the fan through a small window and you can see the anti-vibration silicone fasteners off to the right.
The back of the box lists more specs and features and opens up for even more information about the fan and its design.
Inside you’ll find a plastic box along with a brief user manual.
Noctua includes quite a few accessories with the NF-A14 ULN fan.
Regular metal fan screws are included but Noctua also includes silicone anti-vibration bolts to help keep the fan even more quiet.
Noctua also included a 3-pin to Molex adapter, an extension cable and a low noise adapter to slow the fan speed down.
Here’s the fan itself, it’s a square 140mm fan to provide the most amount of airflow and coverage. The fan is the common Noctua color scheme, the brown and beige.
The back has the ID label and the inner frame is minimal as to not impede airflow.
All eight corners of the fan come with silicone covers to help keep vibrations down thus keeping the noise level in your system to a minimum. The corners do come off very easily if need be.
If you take a close look at the inner frame and the blades of the fan you’ll see it doesn’t look like other fans on the market, this is by design and does serve several purposes.
All of these small design features are made to keep the noise down but yet get the most airflow from the fan.
