Unboxing
As usual we start with the box pictures. The box for this fan is the familiar Noctua colors, and it opens up on the front and the back to show you the actual fan on the front and then on the back lots of specs and features.
Inside of the box you’ll find another plastic box or tray really that holds everything in place for you. There’s also a user manual on the side.
Once you get everything unpacked you’ll find plenty of stuff in addition to the fan.
Included is a low noise adapter and a 3-pin to 2-pin adapter as well.
There’s also an extension cable just in case you need it.
Included are regular screws and silicone fasteners.
Something interesting is also included what Noctua calls an OmniJoin Adaptor Set which allows you to use the Noctua 40mm fan with any other adapter out there.
The kit features 3M ScotchLok fasteners that are used to connect two wires together very easily. To use them you just insert the wires into the holes and squeeze the Scothlok fasteners together and it creates a connection inside.
So finally here’s the fan, it’s small being only 40mm by 10mm in size.
The fan has rubber or silicone vibration dampeners pre-installed on both sides around the mounting holes. The blades are specially designed to increase airflow performance while keeping the noise down.
