iPhone Screen Protector (Anti Glare) from USBFever Review

Today, we will look at the iPhone Screen Protector (Anti Glare) from USBFever. Let’s see if this screen protector matches up to the others or falls to the wayside.

Unboxing

The iPhone Screen Protector (Anti Glare) arrives in a blue sleeve envelope with the letters AR embossed in gold lettering. The backside features application instructions in several languages including English.

The Screen Protector looks pretty similar to the Boxwave Anti-Glare version. This model does feature a complete circle cut out for the Home button as opposed to an omega shape on the Boxwave model. As with most Anti-Glare shields, the protector is not crystal clear like glass, but slightly frosted.

A plastic backing keeps the adherent part of the protector from picking up dust and particulate matter before initial application.

The protector is thin, but sturdy at the same time. It appears to be scratch resistant.

Installation, Testing and Comparison

Installing the iPhone Screen Protector (Anti Glare) is the same as any of the previous screen protectors used at DragonSteelMods. While wearing some gloves, carefully remove the plastic backing and line up the Protector onto the clean iPhone surface.

Use some sort of straight edge, such as a credit card to eliminate any air bubbles. That is all it takes.

The first thing noticed about the iPhone Screen Protector (Anti Glare) is that the edges do not reach the metal border of the iPhone. The Protector seems to have been cut too small.

Also, when aligning the Home button opening, the ear receiver opening gets partially covered by the protector.

These two errors in measurement affect both the aesthetic appearance and the functionality of the iPhone. In addition, the edges of the phone are at risk for scratches if not housed in some form of carrying case.

The iPhone Screen Protector (Anti Glare) provides a clear view of the iPhone and looks comparable to the Boxwave AntiGlare version. The main difference between the two is that the USBFever version does have some drag on the surface when using the iPhone’s touch screen. There was some delays or missed presses with the Protector in place that are otherwise absent with the other reviewed protectors and the naked phone.

Removal of the Protector can be done with the masking tape maneuver, roll up a piece and stick to the front of the Protector and pull towards you. This will life the Protector off. Once removed, the iPhone is free of any residue, since the screen is held in place via static cling.

Summary and Comments:

The iPhone Screen Protector (Anti Glare) from USBFever is another screen protection alternative and comes at a lower price point than the ones from Boxwave and Power Support. The review demo I had seemed to be smaller than the actual iPhone screen and did not have the proper alignment for the receiver speaker for the phone.

DragonSteelMods gives the iPhone Screen Protector (Anti Glare) a 3.5 out of 5 score.

Pros:

  • +Cheap
  • +Anti-Glare
  • +No sticky adhesives
  • +Ultra Thin
  • +Anti-Scratch

Cons:

  • -Not big enough to cover entire screen
