Sonos Bundle 130 Digital Music System Reviewed

Installation, Testing and Comparison

For a system that could be complicated to setup, the folks at Sonos made their digital music system as simple as plug and play. Following the QuickSetup Instruction card, my Sonos system was up and running in under 15 minutes.

Setup involves hooking up either the ZonePlayer 80 or ZonePlayer 100 to your home router.

You can even use the ZoneBridge (which acts as a wireless bridge to start the SonosNet network). Next hook the ZonePlayers into the room(s) of your choice. Install the software onto either your Mac or PC to setup your music system.

The software setup is straightforward. Just follow the directions and press the mute and volume up buttons simultaneously on your ZP80 or ZP100 to establish a link to the units and the PC running the Software. The longest part of the setup is the indexing of your music library, obviously dependent on the size of your library. You can cull your music from one location or off up to 16 PC/Mac or NAS devices. Once this is finished, the fun begins.
