Installation, Testing and Comparison
Installation is very easy, being USB it just plugs in and it’s ready to go after Windows installs it automatically.
Here’s that picture I mentioned earlier, comparing the Super Slim to the Logitech C510 keyboard. You can see just how small the Super Slim keyboard is, it really is tiny.
Now you are thinking, just how functional is a keyboard that small right? Well it does have sort of a high learning curve, in that the keys are so small and close together you will be hitting the other keys at first. After about a week of using it though I did find I had a lot less errors, and after that week I found I could actually type very fast on the Super Slim keyboard, almost as fast as I can on a full sized keyboard. In fact I actually wrote this review using the Super Slim keyboard, just because it felt like the right thing to do, and yeah I did find myself correcting quite a few spelling errors in the process.
The keys themselves feel a bit stiff, it takes a bit more force to push them down than on a regular keyboard; I believe this was done to help prevent errors from people hitting the adjacent keys.
As for gaming, well, it takes a lot of practice, it can be done, but you will be fumbling for a bit until you get used to the keyboard. The Super Slim keyboard could actually be the ultimate lan party keyboard, extremely portable, easy to use, after the break-in period and very responsive.
I told you this was gong to be a short review, so that’s about it really.
Summary and Comments
Overall, the Super Slim keyboard from Brando WorkShop is a great little portable keyboard that you can take with you everywhere and not even know you are carrying it. You might not want to write a book on it, but for doing everyday tasks, like answering emails etc, it is perfectly fine, once you get used to it. There really is nothing wrong with it, except maybe the higher learning curve, but that is to be expected from something like this keyboard. All in all, I like it, and I will be utilizing it for quite some time to come, it makes a great keyboard to test systems with etc.
DragonSteelMods gives the Super Slim Keyboard from Brando WorkShop a 4.5 out of 5 score.
