The packaging for the Titan EZ Sound is very nice overall, it is actually its own gift box as well. You can plainly see the EZ Sound through a small window in the box, and there is lots of information all over the cover about the EZ Sound.
The box is actually two parts, there is a slip cover with all the information on it, and then a black gift box inside of that.
The gift box is very nicely done and well made, it held shut by a tiny magnet and the EZ Sound unit itself sits in a foam ‘bed’ to protect it and display it.
Included with the EZ Sound is a small information sheet, gold plated USB connection for optional power and gold plated audio connections as well. The connectors are the retractable kind making it very portable and easy to store. Titan also included a nice carrying case as well that has a belt clip and a removable carrying strap.

The Titan EZ Sound sort of reminds me of a rocket ship in its shape and style.
On the top is the subwoofer, along with the EZ Sound logo.
On the back, or front, not sure which it would be, it where we find the satellite speakers and the connection ports. As you can see from the pictures all of the speakers are covered with protective metal screen grills to make sure they don’t get damaged during transport.
There are three ports, and an LED located on the panel. In the picture from left to right we have: a headphone jack, audio in, optional power input for the USB power and the LED to indicate power on or off.
As I mentioned you can use a USB port to power the EZ Sound, but you can also power it with four ‘AAA’ batteries as well, after all your mp3 device doesn’t normally have a USB power connection on it. The battery compartment is located on the bottom of the unit, where we also find the label and three rubber non-slip feet.
The Titan EZ Sound is very well made, it is solid and yet lightweight making it a very portable device. The quality of the EZ Sound is excellent, every part of it seems well made and designed with care. The addition of the gold plated connections is a nice extra that Titan added to make sure optimum conductivity is to be had for the audio and power connections. Personally I don’t like the retractable cables as they always seem to get tangled up if you don’t open them just right, but that is just me, and this type of cable is needed for a device that is to be carried around with you.
The carrying case seems well made, I’m not going to say it is actually leather but it does have a ‘leather’ odor to it. The case itself is made to be used even while the EZ Sound unit is in operation, there are openings for the speakers to make sure the sound gets out and is heard, not muffled by the case. The case does have a removable belt clip and strap so you can choose to use either transporting method.
Installation, Testing and Comparison
There not much really to installation of the Titan EZ Sound, there are no drivers or anything like that to install. The USB connection is just for power so no drivers are needed. The only real ‘installation’ would be to put it in the case or install the batteries.
Putting it in the carrying case is easy, just slide it in and lock it shut. You can see from the pictures the carrying case allows access to the connection ports and the speakers are unobstructed.
I used the Titan EZ Sound with my laptop and with my mp3 player, which is a Swissbit S.Beat digital audio player. The native connection on the S.Beat is the 2.5mm style, but the remote for it does have the standard 3.5mm jack on it so I could use the EZ Sound that way. My phone is also an mp3 player as well but it is native 2.5mm and I couldn’t use the EZ Sound with it unless I had an adapter, many mobile devices today use the 2.5mm jack size, I really think Titan should have included a second cable for this or at least an adapter to make it universally compatible. Other than that there really are no problems with the EZ Sound.
There is no actual on/off switch for the EZ Sound, it is turned on by plugging the jack into the Input port of the device. The LED will turn on bright blue to let you know it is working. There is also no volume control, the volume is controlled by your audio device, as is the bass and treble settings etc.
I was very surprised by the sound quality of the EZ Sound, of course you’ll need to adjust the EQ settings, like bass and treble on your audio player to get the clearest, undistorted sound, but the EZ Sound does reproduce bass and treble very well. With any type of speaker you will have distortion when you have too much bass etc, so you will need to find a happy ‘medium’ setting that all of your music will sound good at or you will be constantly changing the settings, the easiest thing to do is lower the bass frequencies, this will stop any distortions from the speakers.
Overall the sound of the Titan EZ Sound speakers is very good, I sat hear and listened to it with my laptop and with my mp3 player. I hate my laptops speakers, they sound horrible so I usually use an external set when I use my laptop, now I can take the EZ Sound speakers with me for great sound wherever I go.
The EZ Sound reproduces highs and lows very well, as I said I was very impressed by the good sound coming from such a small set of speakers, I really was not expecting it to sound as good as it does. This is one of those products that is very useful and I can easily recommend to people.
Summary:
The Titan EZ Sound is an exceptional product that I found to be very high quality all around, the sound and the construction are top notch. The only flaw is the lack of compatibility with all devices, today there are many portable audio devices that use the 2.5mm jack, it would have been nice had Titan included a connection for those devices as well. Overall though the Titan EZ Sound is excellent and I can recommend it to anyone looking for a fully featured portable speaker system that you can easily take with you and sounds great.
DragonSteelMods gives the Titan EZ Sound Mini 2.1 Portable Speakers a 4.5 out of 5 score and our Recommended Award as well.
