TV iPhone App Preview

Testing

The TV tab allows you to scan by channel, date and time. Tapping on the center upper clock brings down the Apple style spinning dial control.

Tapping on one of the shows listed bring down another screen with detailed information about the show including Gallery, Credits, Details and Reviews. In the future i.TV plans to add abilities such as watching TV on the iPhone or iPod Touch, remote DVR recording, managing and downloading DVDs and purchasing movie tickets.

With the Movies section, one can get information about all of the movies currently released. Additional information includes – Gallery, Preview, Credits, Details and Reviews. The Gallery section takes one to some screen shots from the film, while the Preview, kicks the iPhone/iPod Touch into the YouTube app which displays the trailer for the film, if available.

The theater section lists the films showing and the times of the show.

The My Media and search sections are pretty straightforward.

From my limited time testing the i.TV app, I found it to be responsive and very detailed. The presentation looks good and there are many hidden options. Since, this is a free app, you will see the occasional advertisement on the top bar of the TV and Movie sections. Plus if i.TV implements TV viewing and remote DVR recording, this would make this a must have app. The one thing that did annoy me was the fact that the app did not remember your position when navigating through links. For instance, when you return to the main movie page, then you have to start at the very top of the alphabet. Not a big deal and may be addressed in the near future.
