USB Flash Card 2GB MP3 Player Review

A Better Look at Things

No fancy packaging here, just basic white boxes, yes there are two boxes for one Mp3 player. One box has the mp3 player, headphones, data/charging cable and the second box houses the additional AC USB charging adapter. The mp3 player itself come sin a nice metal gift box with a small window in it, while the USB charger is just in a plastic bag.

You can charge the mp3 player via your computers USB port or you can use the AC adapter. The AC USB Adapter is just a basic USB charging power supply that can also be used to charge any other type of device that can be charged via USB, so it can be considered a bonus that was included with the mp3 player.

Opening the metal box we find the USB Flash MP3 Player, USB cable and earbuds in a small ziplock baggie.

The earbuds themselves are your basic variety, nothing special at all about them, and honestly they are a bit uncomfortable to wear, they seem a bit to large for my ears anyway. They don’t have any padding on them, just a thin rubber strip that goes around the outside to help keep them in your ears.

On the front of the MP3 player you’ll find the basic controls, along with a small sticker in the bottom corner indicating the capacity. The back of the player is plain, nothing but the water drop design.

The controls are very basic, but it would have been nice had an instruction manual been included, it took me quite a while to figure out what ‘R’ really meant. To turn the mp3 player on you just hold the Play/Pause button down for a few seconds, to advance forward or go back to the next song you just tap the appropriate button, but to turn the volume up or down you hold the volume button in for a second or two. To turn the player off you have to hold the Play/Pause button in for about 10 seconds, originally I thought that the ‘R’ button was the off button, and I was getting frustrated that the player kept starting back at the first song every time I turned it back on, well apparently the ‘R’ button means Reset I guess, it turns the player off and starts back at the beginning the next time you turn it on. If you power off with the Play/Pause button the player picks back up at the song you were listening to when you turn it back on.

There is a small 2.5mm headphone style jack on the top of the player, this is interesting in that this 2.5mm jack is for not only the headphones but it acts as your USB data connection and charging connection, which means it uses a special USB cable. This I don’t like, because if you loose it you’re out of luck, I’ve never seen a 2.5mm jack USB cable before…
