Remember the 60’s and 70’s? I do, at least the 70’s anyway, but Lava Lamps were the rage back then, they’ve sort of made a comeback, but aren’t quite as popular as they once were. I used to have a full sized Lava Lamp, from the 70’s, although I’m not quite sure where it went, I’ll have to look for it sometime, but in the meantime USBGeek has sent me the USB Mini Lava Lamp for review to remind me of my errant youth. The USB Mini Lava Lamp is obviously powered by your USB port, it’s one of those cool little gadgets that have no real use except to take up space and maybe bring back memories for those of use that can remember back that far… Anyway, read on to check out this great little ‘gadget’ from USBGeek…

A Better Look at Things
:
The USB Mini Lava Lamp comes in a plain white box, the Lava Lamp itself is wrapped in bubble wrap.
Of course we have a USB cord attached to it as well, nothing else comes with the Lava Lamp.
The base of the USB Mini Lava Lamp is covered in felt to make sure it stays where you put it, and won’t scratch furniture.
Well there’s not much more to say about it, you got the grand tour, so move to the next section to check out a couple movies I took of our USB Mini Lava Lamp in action.

Installation, Testing and Comparison
Here’s a quick comparison picture for you, to give you a better idea of just how big, or how small the USB Mini Lave Lamp is.
There really is not any installation, just plug it in and it does its’ thing. There’s no switch to turn it on or off and no drivers to install, truly plug and play.
The first movie I have for you is a few seconds of the Lava Lamp in action, nope it does not make any noise, just changes colors and the Lava flows around a bit.
The second movie is a bit closer than the first, same premise though, changes colors, Lava moves around…
I love gadgets of all sizes, most of them I get for review or even buy myself are truly useful and then there are some like the USB Mini Lava Lamp that has no use whatsoever.. Now that’s not a bad thing though, a decoration is a decoration, so I guess it does have a use, to decorate your workspace or someone elses…

Summary:
Well what can I say about a Lava Lamp? There are no cons really for a USB powered Lava Lamp, except maybe bringing about the possible flashback or two from a bad acid trip while at work, but really though there’s nothing wrong with the USB Mini Lava Lamp from USB Geek, it’s one of those things that just is. If you are looking to capture a small piece of your youth or maybe you want to see what all the fuss was about, then get one and check it out, it’s a cool little gadget that just sits there and makes you feel happy!
DragonSteelMods gives the USB Mini Lava Lamp a 5 out of 5 score.
