A Better Look at Things
The Brando USB Skype Phone arrived to me in the standard plastic clamshell, but it isn’t one of those impossible to open ones, it opens easily. On the front of the package we can easily see the actual phone and know exactly what we are getting.
The back of the package features all the specs and a picture of the phone pointing out the buttons and what they are for.
Opening it up we find the phone itself and a mini CD that has Skype software on it along with the software for the phone itself.
The Brando USB Skype Phone itself is rather cool looking actually. We can clearly see the on/off or yes and no buttons, between those is your navigation button for the Skype software, you use it to control the Skype software to make choices. There is a button in the center that is labeled ‘S’ and Skype under it, that is obviously for Skype.
We can also customize the phones ringers with the ‘Ring’ button there are a few different ring tones to choose from, I choose the one that sounds like a normal phone but there are some very interesting ones there as well.
The keypad features plastic ‘crystal’ keys that I thought would light up, but do not, oh well. The buttons are small but no different than a cellphone’s buttons.
The Brando USB Skype Phone features an LCD dot matrix display, sort of like the older cellphones, it will display time, date, number calling etc. Above the LCD is the speaker or ear piece.
On the bottom of the phone we find the microphone, I really like the overall design of the Brando USB Skype phone, the cut out section at the bottom adds to the look and feel of the phone. We can also see the USB cable through there as well.
The back of the phone just has some information and we find the ringer speaker back there as well.
On the left side of the phone we find a volume button, and on the right side we find the mute button. It reminds me of most cellphones I’ve owned, so using this was easy.
