USB Skype Phone with LCD Display Review

Installation, Testing and Comparison

Installation is easy just plug it in and pop the disc in and run the software, all done. I was very happy that it worked with Windows XP64 with no problems at all.

Once powered up we get to see the LCD display in action, we can see the name of the phone ‘USB Phone’ and there is also a back light as well for using it in the dark I guess.

If you hit a button the display changes to the time and date as well.

For testing of course I made some phone calls, I found that after a few minutes of experimenting the phone was very easy to use. The learning curve is very low with this phone, anyone should be able to master it in minutes. You can use the navigation button to select one of your contacts and call them, or click the ‘Skype’ button to be able to dial a number, the number does appear on the LCD display as well. Making phone calls was very easy to do, and the sound was fine. I was surprised actually by the quality of the sound as the phone is relatively low cost. The other people I talked to were clear and they said they could hear me fine as well.

The Brando Skype USB Phone is very lightweight and easy to use. It also feels like it will be able to withstand a bit of abuse as well, it seems solidly made, so you could throw it in your laptop bag and take it with you. I would have liked to have seen a case for it though.

The phone integrates well with Skype and is easy to use with it, it is nice to be able to navigate the Skype software through the phone as well as make calls without using the mouse or keyboard.
