Xclio 1000 PC Case

PC Cases come in all shapes and sizes
these days, look around and you’ll find the perfect case that fits
your style and needs easily. The PC case is an integral part of the
system, it performs more than just the function of housing your PC,
it helps keep your system cool and we all now that a cool system is a
happy system.

Today for review I’ve got a case that
is huge, it’s a full tower style case from our friends over at Xclio,
but it’s much more than that, it’s got quite a few other features as
well. The Xclio 1000 PC case features nine 120mm fans built in that
can be changed to one of several different colors, along with the
ability to control their speeds as well. The front has got three
doors covering the drive bays, each door has its own fan along with
individual controls for each one. Inside you’ll find room enough for
any system with room to spare for expansion, and there’s a plethora
of hard drive bays so you’ll have room for terabytes of storage as
well.

{mospagebreak title= Installation}

Installation:

There’s a whole lot of room inside
of the Xclio 1000 case so there was no problem getting my system in
there, since there’s no exhaust fan I didn’t have to worry about
removing it as I had the Thermaltake DuoOrb installed on my
motherboard, and it’s so big that it won’t fir with the exhaust fan.

The fans when running on low speed
are actually quiet, which is very surprising as there is so many of
them, though once you turn them up it does get very loud, for me it’s
quite annoying.

You can change the colors of the
fans, or you can let it alternate between colors automatically.

I really like the fact that the
individual fans on the front can be controlled individually, you can
only control the top and side fans as a set though. As I mentioned
there’s no exhaust fan installed in the case, but the PSU does act
like one, so that seems to work, and of course you have the top fans
that act as exhaust fans.

I did have quite a problem getting
the power supply installed as it seemed the screw holes on the case
just didn’t quite line up with the ones on my power supply, but with
some work I got it installed.

Getting the hard drives installed
in the regular plastic brackets is easy, but the included hard drive
coolers can be difficult, it took quite a bit of effort to get the
clips attached once the HDD was in the cooler.

Overall everything seemed to stay
very cool, so the fans do their job. I like the industrial look and
feel of the Xlcio 1000, it has a futuristic look to it that might not
be for everyone, but I think it looks rather cool. It’s a nice case
that has more than enough room for any system, problem is that it is
so big you may have trouble finding somewhere to put it.

-As a side note here, there are
sharp edges inside of the case, specifically the 5.25” bays, I
sliced my hand open real good, I should have went and got stitches
actually, but oh well.. just too busy. Bled all over the place, went
though several bandages and tissues. Damn thing bled for two days….

Summary
and Comments:

The Xlcio 1000 PC Case is huge,
it’s got more than enough room for any system, and the numerous fans
will keep even the hottest system cool. It’s sturdy and well made
with a good design, look and feel to it.

The Xclio case is rather
expensive, coming in at well over $200, but if you need the space and
cooling abilities it could be well worth it. I did run across some
small issues with a couple things as I mentioned, but overall the
installation went smoothly with more than enough room to work inside
of the case.

DragonSteelMods gives the Xclio
1000 PC Case a 4 out of 5 score.

Pros:

-Large case, lots of room

-Lots of fans to keep things cool

-Looks great

-Well made

Cons:

-Expensive

-Hard to install hard drives is
coolers

-Hard to install PSU

-Sharp edges inside

I
would like to thank
Xclio for the chance to review the Xclio
1000 PC Case
and for their support of DSM.
